Easy Halloween Towel Tutorial

I have been on a quest for holiday home decor.
I created a couple of towel designs that I think anyone could have success making.

 Today's tutorial will be the Easy Halloween Towel.
1 Black Indo USA kitchen towels {pre-washed}
2/3 yard of Halloween fabric {border style preferred}
I used Halloween Night by Minick and Simpson for Moda sku#14699-12
Basic sewing supplies
Start by measuring your towel.
It will be approximately 28" X 19" {I highly recommend pre-washing}
Using the entire 2/3 yard, start by un-folding the fabric.
Re-fold so that the fabric can be cut "with" the selvage as shown.
Since I am right handed, the selvage is to the left when I cut.

Using a 6" X 24" ruler line up your design repeat.
I wanted equal fabric on either side of the pumpkins.
Make the first cut, flip the fabric around and cut equal distance on the other side.
Your piece will be 6" X 24"

Next, turn under the raw edges of 6" X 24" piece about 1/2".
Press these edges.
This will give you a 'finished' edge.

Here is the fabric pressed and ready to be sewn to the towel.

Lay the fabric strip across the bottom edge of the towel.
I allowed about 2" of black towel to show at the bottom.
Pin your fabric strip in place.
There will be excess on the sides, fold that to the backside carefully and pin.
Top stitch with matching thread about 1/8" around the edge.
Ta Da!
