Kate's giveaway day....

I was thrilled when Kate Spain agreed to be in my book tour.
I used 3 of her Moda fabric lines in the book quilts.
In Stop Watch it was Central Park.

and Terrain was even on the cover!

Stop over to Kate's blog where she gives you a sneek peak
at her newest fabric line Sunnyside.
It is a comforting group of fabrics
that remind me of cloudy day turning to warm sunshine.
Plus she'll  discuss her version of a block from the Quaint quilt
and how she and I met.
It's a wonderful blog post!

Day #6 is Carol's book tour day!

Carol finished an ENTIRE quilt for the tour Large-block Quilts.
It is a great variation of Stretched Stars.

I hope it inspires you to try one of the blocks or quilts in your fabric choices.
I am trully surprised by how different the quilts can be.
Stop by Carol's blog to leave a comment to win your own copy of the book.

Didn't catch me?

Most of you probably know I grew up in Dubuque,
graduated from Loras College and still have deep roots there.
It only makes sense for me to head back every few months
and it just so happens that this weekend is one of my trips!

I'll be In Dubuque, Iowa on April 27th
at The Cotton Cabin on Main Street from 10am - 12pm
signing my book,
chatting a bunch and
rolling around in all the fabric goodness that can be found there!

I have been a customer of The Cotton Cabin for over 10 years.
If you haven't been there
I highly recommend that you stop if you get in the Dubuque area.

It all started with a cupcake...

Today is Jen's day for the blog tour.
Jen and I met through a cupcake themed swap hosted by Sharon at Red Geranium Cottage.
Sharon hosted THE best swaps.
Jen and I have been blogging buddies ever since.
It only made sense to invite Jen to help me spread the word about my book.

Her take on the Spin Patch design is awesome!

It's charming and full of sunshine.
Head over to her blog Miss Punkie Pie to see it!

Collecting, finding and hoarding low volume prints....

I've really been bitten with a bug to collect low value
aka low volume prints.
I've raided my stash recently and
dug up some goodies that I had forgotten about.
I bought the 3 fabrics at the top of the bundle
when my husband and I took a trip to Alaska about 4 years ago.
It sat for 4 years?
{hoard much?}
what have I been thinking?
I am not sure what quilt I will make with these
but they have moved to the top of my pile of 'to use next prints'.
Do you have a pile like that?
I have like 10 of those piles.
But I have QADD ( quilter's attention deficit disorder)
so I am constantly bouncing projects.
Like this project below
I made a 'hidden basket' block with Liberty Stile print
and a bunch of scraps of low volume text prints I have been collecting.
So now do I make more?
I have quite a bit of Liberty fat quarters....
I'll let you know.
If you are looking to collect low volume prints or
text prints in small 'batches' these
are some of my favorite online fabric sources:
