I have been busy this week. She's finally here, Miss Ellery.....March 13th, 6lbs. 10oz., 19 3/4 inches. She's one of THE best projects I have ever made....besides my first daughter little Grace. Notice the knitting in the background...I started that during labor to get my mind off the pain. That lasted for 26 rows....that is as far as I knitted. Now it may remain a UFO for a couple of years!

3 UFO's done...a small accomplishment

It's the 11th of March and still no baby. I am resting mostly but working on my projects as well. I started to organize my sewing area this weekend and made quite a bit of progress. Perhaps the little girl is waiting until mom cleans the whole house... I don't know. Anyhow, here's my latest.....

I found that bunny cross stitiched piece....completed! and ready for framing while I was organizing my sewing room a bit this week. I found a white wooden picture frame at Jo-Ann's and used some Delta paint to get the turquoise color I wanted. I decorated my family room with a bunch of Eastery stuff so this will fit perfectly.
The 2 pincushions were created from my scrap basket. The flying geese were part of another project and they didn't make the cut. So I sewed them up found some scrap backing, stuffed them...and added buttons. I think they are super cute. A great addition to my pincushion stash.
These plates were my find of the day at the Cracker Barrel. I fell in love with the whimsical painting and soft colors...not to mention the inspiring sayings. I hope to find a white wooden plate shelf to put them on in my sewing room. I just had to share these cuties.

Chicks and Bunnies

I am almost finished with this heart stitchery. I have to add a hanger to the back and it done! It is a bareroots pattern. I just love the flowers and chick....so springy....

Indeed I set the heart aside....and started yet another project today...

It's a wee wonderful bunny! I finally attempted to make one. It was a bit more complicated to put the bottom on then I thought it would be. But I did it. And I hope to make a couple more, now that I learned from my initial mistakes. Here's the link to the pattern. Thanks Hillary!

Completed projects this weekend

Thinking spring here even though it's snowing outside. I hand stitched this in a couple of days and turned it into a pillow this weekend. It's a pattern by Buttermilk Basin. I have a couple more small items I am trying to finish up and hope to post them in a day or two. All Eastery and spring related.

Whipped up this Easter pillowcase for my daughter. I bought the fabric last year and FINALLY put it together! I just love it. She used it last night. I have made several novelty pillowcases with a free pillowcase pattern from Quick Quilts, designed by Pat Sloan. http://www.quickquilts.com/bonus/qb02_pattern/index.html

Minkee Ribbon Blankie

I started this project last weekend from Crafts 'n Things magazine May 2007. I searched and hunted for cutesy ribbons with designs and sayings just for a baby. And I LOVE minkee fabric for babies. It is sooo soft and cuddly. I figured my new little one will need several blankies to choose from, just like my first daughter.
I still need to make some bassinet sheets which I HOPE to do this weekend. There is a full moon this weekend. And there is an old wives tale about delivering during a full moon...could it work for me? I doubt it!
