jelly roll race #2

Okay I think I have an obsession with these quilts.
This particular race took me just under 2 hours.

I added red Moda Basic Grey Grunge to the end of each jelly roll strip.
This line is Urban Couture by Basic Grey.
I think it is about 4 or 5 years old....
it was about time I used that jelly roll don't you think?
Anyone going to try one of these?
I have 4 more races to go....

I have done that "race" quilt before and I love doing them. The idea of the square of red was a goody!! Thanks for sharing the idea.

Love the Jelly Roll race quilts. I made one with the Sweetwater Reunion line and used dark gray squares. I love it and want to make more of them. Super fun and easy, plus the results are always great!

Guess I'm going to have to try one of these jelly roll race quilts now! I have the same jelly roll at home -- been hoarding it for something "special" and yours looks pretty cute.

I like this much better than the mitered corner version. Since you added fabric, did you still cut off a portion of the first strip? Thanks.

Love the pop of red at the ends. You're making me want to bust out my jelly roll of '1974' from Urban Chicks and make one. I'm hoarding it. I think it needs to be a race quilt. :)

I really want to thank you for sharing these quilts. I do like this one with the red squares. It looks special. The receiver is going to love it! Thanks for sharing them. I will get to one soon. I have about 20 jelly rolls.

I like the idea. I have never done this, but it sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the post.

I really like these quilts because they work up really fast and are a lot of fun to do -- except for that first fold and seam! I've done three in batiks, which turned out really well, and just finished one in Kaffe Fassett fabrics. The Kaffe is spectacular.

I made all my children a jelly roll race quilt for Christmas last year, but rather than using a jelly roll, I used scraps or just 2 1/4" strips. My oldest was just yellow and blue - his high school colors. My other two children were all different novelty fabrics. They were fun and easy and was a great Christmas gift. I finished them with pillow cases to match.

I agree. You are making me want to bust out my jelly rolls and start sewing up more jelly roll quilt. Love the pattern of the little red blocks. Such an interesting quilt. Looks like a child was playing Hop Scotch.
