That's what I would call it..
I am totally crushing on Blythe.
Truthfully I have wanted a full sized Blythe for atleast 3 years.
My husband traveled to Japan on business twice in the last 2 years and my only request was he buy me a Blythe. He found a few but he didn't care for the $$$. I can understand that.
I thought maybe it would be cheaper to bring one home than buy on ebay.
So I have held off. Then I saw a Neo Blythe in person when I met Amanda at the CMQG.
I have struggled and fretted, searched on etsy and ebay and finally decided I was going to get one.
Well now IF any of you own a Blythe, Barbie, LIV, Bratz doll or any doll....you know how easy it is to pick just one....
Then I fretted and struggled some more about which one to get, whom to buy from on ebay...
let's face it...
these dolls are not cheap.
So after all my fretting and worrying and such.
I decided on these 2 little sparks.
Mango and Guava.
They are on their way to the U.S. and once they arrive I will surely take pictures to share.
Currently, I am feverishly knitting a coat for one, making boat tops with City Weekend knits and planning a 100 other outfits for them.
Oh and don't worry....there will be quilts.
I'm still a quilting blog...just every once and a while...I fall back on knitting and dollying. And the cool part is that I have 2 daughters that I can dolly with too and they don't think I am a total dork.
I am a doll person too. I happen to know a place in the US that has these as well if you want the info. The kind of dolls I collect (asian ball jointed dolls) are usualy also featured in magazines with Blythe patterns so I have a ton of blythe patterns. I had an original Blythe in 1972 I think it went to goodwill I still have her dress here too :)
Good choice on your Blythe girls. I have Miss Mango and she sits on my sewing supplies shelf! Unfourtunaly, I don't have any little girls to understand me...just a hubby who rolls his eyes!
I am so glad I am not the only one! I don't have any Blythe dolls but my two young daughters LOVE the American Girl dolls thanks to my sister who still has hers from when she was a kid. So we have many running around here because Grammy and Papa love to give them to them and we live close enough to one of the stores! I think they are beautiful dolls and broke down and bought one for myself. I love sewing clothes for all of them and my girls get a kick out of playing with Mommy and her dolly!
Such a small knit coat sounds so sweet!
Your daughters probably think you are the coolest mom ever!!
I saw Amanda's too.... I have no idea what this whole craze is about because I'm doing construction equipment and dinosaurs. Have fun!
How simply cute, Vickie. I too love dolls and have several of my own. Enjoy!
Cute dolls. I like their hair. I have never seen them before. I like dolls too. I am in the middle of a wardrobe for the chunkier 15" doll. I want to have a go at making some cloth dolls. Can't wait to see pictures of your dolls in their new coats.
Too cute! I have boys, so no dolls here :) Sounds like fun though!
My kids are grown and I never heard of these dolls. Oh my the clothes are great. I used to make the historical clothes for the American Girl doll for a quaint little doll shop to sell. I wish I had kept some of them. I would love to dabble with making some clothes for these. Just what I need-another obsession! Where did you find the book with the patterns for your coat? I don't think I want to spend as much money for the one I saw on Amazon. Any inexpensive, nice patterns that you know of?
Today I went to work at Toys R US I am not normaly in the girls sectin but I wa today as Iwas piecing the shlves I noticed sme My litle pet shop dolls and there the Blythe dolls are these the oes you got if not did you know about them. I saw them and it reminded me about your dolls.
