fly a kite

Today was the last day of spring break.
We had a long drive and needed to 'rest up' a bit before going back to our routine.
It was an amazing spring day.
It was perfect weather for flying a kite.
Both girls received kites from the Easter bunny.
This was the first time that either of them have flown kites.

There's Elly watching her sister's kite...
And Elly gets the hang of it herself!
And Grace fighting the wind a bit.
After quite a long while kite flying we went in for lunch of PB and J sandwiches.
A perfect lunch ;)

They had so much fun they went back out later before the sun went down.
Now what I didn't show you was the kite getting stuck in the rose bush or the time when they became intertwined and it took 15 minutes to get them untangled.  But it was all so worth it.

I remember flying kites with the boys. They used to love it. That seems like so long ago.

My Little Person also loves to fly kites!

I especially love to see the colorful kites flying in the sky.

Thanks for sharing.

Looks like so much fun...and everything looks so green...I guess I didn't picture Ohio being so green this early in the spring!

Grace and Elly look like they are having a blast. Great Pictures!!!
I tried to fly one with my grand babies and couldn't run fast enough. Glad nobody had a camera.

Good job for getting both kites in the air... that part always is harder than it looks!

When I was a kid I had so much fun flying kites. I had a big Delta kite shaped kind of like a hang-glider with a big "eye" printed on it. That thing would soar!

What fun! Punkie is eager to try her kite too. Just waiting for some wind.
