High Fashion

In Vegas there is fashion available EVERYWHERE.
A far cry from where I live....
There's Tiffany's and Fendi...
Louis Vuitton and Mui Mui

even Prada...

Meet up.

While continuing my journal of my Las Vegas trip, I knew it wouldn't be complete without mentioning my meet up with Sherri.
She was so sweet and she even brought me one of her pincushions! Look at the Meadowsweet fabrics - swooning.
Here we are. I know she showed this pic on her blog..but in case you haven't seen it. Here we are at Quiltique in Henderson.
We chatted and shopped for fabric for about an hour. I could have talked the entire day! There are sooo many things to chat about in the quilting and sewing world.
I 'll post tomorrow about my best find of my entire trip.

Bellagio

I just had to post some pictures from Bellagio in Las Vegas.
The Botanical gardens are beautiful.
For those of you that have not been to Vegas...there is sooo much to see.
We walked for miles.
Definitely don't have to gamble to experience it.

I wish I had taken my Nikon but instead I took my smaller camera.
Still some real beauty here.

I have no idea what these are called but they are beautiful.

A snail made with roses.
Giant watering cans...watering ...who'd have thought?

Merci Beaucoup Jean Phillipe

Jean Phillipe is a pattisserie at Aria in Vegas.

We had breakfast there one morning of out trip.
Talk about amazing creations. I wanted to take pictures of everything. It seemed like there were always too many people around. I did get some pics of the cakes on display.
And this red shoe.
It's made of chocolate.
There were amazing coffees, pasteries and sandwiches. If you happen to get to Vegas I suggest you try Jean Phillipe.

*note* I did not get any compensation for this post.
Just wanting to pass on an excellent dining opportunity :)

D-9

I'm sitting here in the airport in Vegas...waiting for our flight to board and I'm bored!
I started to look through pics I have taken in the last year and I realized that i missed blogging this.
It's a Disappearing 9 patch that I began in April during a Quilt-a-Way weekend.
I have nearly 20 blocks finished and I have a cute idea for the border. I plan on using the cement 'almost' solid Hunky Dory print for sashing. I used 4 different Moda lines plus a few other fabrics. Besides Hunky Dory, there is Celebration by Sandy Gervais, Sweet by Urban Chiks, and Simplicity by 3 Sisters.  I wanted it to be scrappy and yet used the Hunky Dory in the center for all the blocks to unify them.
One thing I noticed as I was sewing with pre-cut charms...is that charm packs from 3 or 4 years ago are not the same size as the ones today. This caused some issues with my piecing..but it's fun.
Okay we're off.....
