dotty dresden

I've begun an adventure.
I am sure.

Making this quilt.
Dotty Dresden.
Found in Material Obsession by Sarah Fielke and Kathy Doughty.

I purchased the red dots fabric from about 2 months ago, bought the Nifty Notions tumbler ruler in South Carolina and just started pulling stash fabric for the dresden petals yesterday.
I intentionally chose fabrics that I wouldn't have enough of for the entire quilt. That way I will have to substitute a similar color.  Besides the background I am only using fabric on hand for this quilt.

I think it's going to be a fun challenge.
We'll see how long it will take me to finish it as well LOL...especially the way I jump projects.

That is a really cute pattern, I love the dots! Break the project up into pieces and it will move along quickly. Have fun, your fabrics look wonderful.

I'm almost jealous of you starting this project as it's one on my list of to dos but I have such a backlog of UFOs to complete first. Your fabrics look gorgeous too...Lucky you! Look forward to seeing how it turns out!

I've always loved this quilt - especially the polka dot background. Please share your progress with us - I'm sure I'm not alone with loving this quilt. Your fabric choices are fantastic!

Maybe you working on this awesome quilt will get me going on it - but I too have too many irons in the fire! I love this quilt and never enough dots.

I love this quilt too but i am too much of a "flea in a mitt" to work on something like this! I'd love to follow your journey through it though!

Oh you will love it! I have done two Dresden quilts inspired by this pattern. I love the Material Obsession books. It is a lot of fun to do...especially if you enjoy hand applique. Can't wait to see it!

I am sure this is going to be an adventure for you!
Love how you chose your fabrics, knowing you won't have enough, so you have to choose others.
