gifts...

I have always been inclined to make gifts for people rather than buy them. You may know that from reading my blog in the past.
Sometimes (okay most of the time) it costs more to MAKE the item than if I bought it.
I digress.

I really wanted to tell you about how this little project came to 'be'.
I was fiddling around with an idea to make little bags for my girls dolls and do-dads.
You know the do-dads I am referring to....
the super itsy bitsy little toys that come with dolls like the mini Lala Loopsies or Moshi Monsters.
I wanted to make a Moda bakeshop project or tutorial somehow.
Long story short, it didn't end up a blog tutorial.
It ended up HERE:

In Quiltmaker's newest magazine Small Quilts and Gifts
(I'm smiling because I really had no intentions of it being in a magazine,
but isn't that how it happens sometimes!)
I used Lynnete Anderson's Scandinavian Christmas by Lecien.
Here are the original prototypes....
Hideaway by Lauren and Jesse Jung
and
Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hoey.
If you happen to get a hold of a copy of the magazine and make one of these half hex bags send me a picture.
I'd love to share it with everyone on my blog :)

These are adorable! I would love to purchase a copy of the magazine, but it is so hard to find here in Brasil :( Do you know where I could get it on line?
Thanks.

What a great idea. Just between us girls, this little bags would be great for holding our, um, "monthly supplies".

Yay for you! Such a cute bag. I will pick up a copy of the mag next time I see it. ;)

I'll keep an eye out for it! And you are so right about all the "little" stuff. Punk has a collection of the mini Lalaloopsies and forever losing a piece here and there. A zippered bag just for her is a great idea.

These are really cute, Vickie! I'm definitely keeping my eyes out for the magazine...we have lots of Barbie accessories around here that could use their own bag!
