Addicted to Avalon

I made another Avalon quilt from Material Obsession book. I loved my first Avalon quilt...and so did 3 of my family members so I decided to make another as a gift to one of them. The fabrics are Jennifer Paganelli Dance with Me. I bought my fat quarters from the Fat Quarter Shop. So hopefully this week it will be off to my machine quilter.

My sick little girl had a happy moment making bubbles in the tub. Her fever was too high to let her go outside. I decided to capture a memory of it.

Am I a bad influence?

My mom, sister and niece were in town this last weekend...hence little sewing or blogging.

They live 9 hours away so when they are here I make the most of it.

On top of that my littlest girl had a terrible fever for 4 days. We went to the doctor twice but all they could say is 'virus'. There is no more fever but she is terribly irritable..I think she needs to eat but hasn't gotten her appetite back yet.

So when I wasn't mothering the ill child....my niece asked me to show her how to make those "puff" things...yo-yo's! Yikes...you know I ♥ my yo-yo makers..and to teach someone else? well that was awesome. She took a charm pack of Neptune [her favorite ;) ] and a clover maker to make some at home. Someday maybe one of my girls will want to learn to hand sew...we'll see.

From Material Obsession...

Pat Sloan's yahoo swap group from a couple of years ago! Finally quilted.

ANd this is the LAST of the 8 quilts I made using the 'Baby Fats' book. The blue corners are supposed to be butterflies....so I am going to add the bodies now...I added the bodies to the girlie version of this before it was quilted and it didn't care for it so here's my chance to do it differently.
now I get to bind them!! Ugh..

Outdoor Quilt Festival....

Ok so I ventured out to a farm here in Ohio...... for the Outdoor Quilt Festival.I had a good reason....Rachel from p.s. i quilt....she and I met there...for the first time. It was a great time....a bit drizzley...rainy but still good company will help you forget minor inconviences.Here she is next to her Christmas tabletopper quilt... And here is her Pinwheel Sampler quilt...it is stunning in person...I wanted to take it home..for real.

This is her Scruffily quilt...and I sooooo want to make one of these..and she made it with Hushabye..I ♥ that fabric line.


Then I just took tons of pictures...it was overcast and humid so the pictures of mine have a haze..still I decided to share some of my favorites.

Oh is that the sun? I think it did peek out for a bit...

I love this barn with the blue and white quilts..stunning presentation.

These little puppy & kitty softies are certain to grab any child's heart. I made them with my girls in mind. They love them! I barely had time to take a picture before they ran off with them. Check out the tutorial on Moda Bakeshop! You can make several from one Hushabye Layer Cake. Just for fun, I am going to have 2 giveaways a JUMBO Clover yo-yo maker and random Moda charm pack!

WIPs from my cruise

This picture shows the improvisational log cabins we made with Vikki Pignatelli. I had a lot of fun doing this. Vikkie recommends that we finish the quilt with obscure angles. NO SQUARES! I am hoping that I will have time one of these days to finish it. These blocks were made from a kit of fabric that was given to us for the class with Margaret Miller. Sample Angle play...I bought ALL the templates..and I LOVE them so far. Some of you who kinda know me...know I love templates for piecing. I suppose that is why Vikki's class was so different for me. I really had to free myself in her class.

So I have to get back to sewing and writing instructions for a new MBS project. Ok this is a dumb question...but how can I make a PDF file a jpeg?? Is that possible? Any help will be appreciated.
