Jelly Roll Race quilt #5

I got a little side tracked on the jelly roll race quilts.
I have been working like crazy.
My hubby went out of town and
I get the pleasure of running the household for a week alone.
not fun.
But then we went to Florida and met up with him
and visited his parents.
It was a good trip but I didn't sew a stitch.

Today I finished my 5th jelly roll race quilt top.
I just went with the straight version
using Nature's Chorus by April Cornell for Moda.
I am running out of time on these, wouldn't you know?

I was going to make 6 total jelly roll race quilts....
but
then I hired another staff member last week.
So there are now 7.
I realize she is new to my team but I just don't feel right about
not making her a quilt as well.
So now I have 2 more quilt tops to make,
and 7 quilts to bind....
and I have 32 days to do it.
whew.
{insert freak out}.
My inner sewing goddess has to have a talk with me...
I CAN do this.
I CAN do this.
I hope I can do this.
3 quilts are in fact back from my local quilter.
I will bind them soon-ish.
Maybe over this coming Thanksgiving holiday :)
I plan on posting them as I finish.
It's fun to record the 'finishes'.

100 blocks vol.6

Are you excited for the next issue of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks?
I am.
I finally get to share the block I designed.

The X-Act block

Here's my original layout on point with snowball blocks.
I think this block could be alternated with any simple blocks for varying effects.

Here it is with an Economy block alternated with it in Kate Spain's Honey Honey fabrics.
or
how about set straight in P B and J by Basic Grey?.....

Hmm I think I am a BIG fan of the P B and J version.
If you'd like to win a copy of Quiltmaker's 100 blocks leave me a comment as to which layout you like best.
Snowball?
Economy?
or
P B and J?
I will be randomly choosing a winner on November 11th.
Quiltmaker will send you the magazine!
Good Luck.

new girl

She's my new custom Blythe 'girl'.
Her artist is Cindy Sowers.
She does Monster High and Blythe and others.
I love the mohair re-root.

I have always wanted a mohair girl.
Now I want ALL my dolls to have custom faces.
I 'might' actually try to matte one of the dolls on my own.
{biting nails nervous}
I know many of you aren't Blythe collectors but I just had to blog this/share this.

BEST. FRIENDS. EVER.

I really have THE best friends EVER.
I didn't make it to Houston fall quilt market...
so my friends brought it to me!
That'd be Stephanie, her sister in-law and Katrina.
I gave Stephanie a wish list for market before she left.
Sample Spree is pretty crazy.
I didn't think she'd be able to get me a bundle....let alone several...
but I was happily wrong.

Hello My name is Vickie and I AM a fabricaholic
One of the most awesome Moda / Unitednotions bags that I ever seen....

Yes, I photoshopped my name to the bag...
but I am considering adding it permanently.
If the shoe fits....as they say.

Can you believe this?
It was like Christmas.

I. AM. SO. HAPPY.

Katrina was cool enough to bring it back to Ohio for me.
Again, I felt blessed since I didn't have to pay shipping.

They scored Glamping by Mary Jane Butters.

Honey Honey by Kate Spain

Notebook by Sweetwater

Snap Pop by Sandy Gervais

Plus there was a little Lecien thrown in there.

{Sigh}
I am still floating high...
I have great plans for these.
Thanks again to my GREAT friends.
