Pick Up Sticks.....

I have been designing quite a bit here lately and I have 3 new patterns to share with you over the next couple of days.
I have at least 2 more quilts in process and
I hope to have those completed in the next couple of weeks.
These new patterns are easy peasy.
I wanted some baby size or toddler sized quilts that could be made with 5" charm packs, 2 1/2" jelly rolls, scraps or 10" layer cakes.
I don't know about you but I have a TON of left over jelly roll strips that just aren't enough to make some of the other patterns I have or they don't 'go' with anything else (IMHO).
I took some of my leftover strips of Woodland and Flea Market Fancy and I designed
Pick Up Sticks.

Just strips.
Incredibly easy to quilt with your home machine and simple straight lines.
I made my quilt top in a weekend and layered it for quilting.
You can purchase your copy at my Spun Sugar Shop, the Fat Quarter Shop or Patternspot.com.

100 Blocks Volume 5 blog tour

Giveaway Closed and the winner has been announced.
Thank you :)

It may be old news that my block is in Quiltmaker's 100 Block vol. 5 but I am still excited to share a copy of the magazine with you.

My block was inspired by the magazine beads I used to make as a child.
Did you ever make magazine beads with glue and strips of magazine pages?
We made tons and had a lot fun.
Here's my block:

I designed a quilt in EQ7 to make with the block on point.

There are quite a few design possibilities with this block.
Even set straight--->

If you'd like to win a copy of the 100 blocks vol. 5 then leave a comment on THIS post.
I will randomly draw a winner on May 6th.

Check out the other blocks and giveaways on Quiltmaker's website.
Good Luck!

Take 5 book review and giveaway

All you read was giveaway, am I right?
well I break for giveaways too so I can't complain.
I really do want to this share this book with you.
More Take 5 Quilts by my lovely friend Kathy Brown.

First, check out the cover...
Isn't it bright?  totally my style.
In fact, there are so many easy quilts in this book it was difficult to choose which was 'best'
or rather best to feature.

I am not sure if I am more smitten with the 16 quilts or the fact
that Kathy has released two new quilt books in less than 12 months!
She's a design wizard.
I don't think she's done either...
I have a feelin' there's A LOT more coming in the future.
In the mean time, we can enjoy this book.

Since this is going to be difficult for me to part with this book,
I am going to make this 'giveaway' a bit more "work".
I would like to know what 5 fabrics you would pick to make a quilt in this book.
For example:
I would choose a solid and 3 Flea Market fancy prints that
coordinate with this print:

This is meant to be fun....
fabric window shop if you have time....
peek at some new fabrics
Here and Here and Here....
I'll choose a winner on May 8th.
Please make sure there is a way to contact you in case you are the winner.

p.s. I have received zero compensation for fabric shop mentions...
they are just my favorites.

Sooo ready

I am kind of sort of sure that this is the last order of Flea Market Fancy
pretty convincing?
Nah..

So I am finally over my virus slash
 cold slash
10 day illness.
I was done with it...it wasn't done with me.
I have been feeling better that way and wham...
serious back, right hip and right knee pain.
I finally caved and went to the Chiropractor.
She's also my next door neighbor.
So far,
she's my hero.
One treatment and I haven't had an incident of shooting pain since.
I see her again Monday and I hope with treatments
and massage that I can get this worked out by quilt market.

Have I told you? I am soooo ready for April to be over.
