I'm tempted to lie.

It's true. I am tempted to tell you that I have just slaved over these seasonal stitcheries.
But the truth is that I stitched them sometime about 2 years ago.

I had some of the strips sewn to the borders but neither was trully finished.
This last weekend I took a new interest in them.
I finished the border strips, layered and hand quilted them, and sewed them into pillows.

I am happy to have finished them.
There is one more that I decided not to make a pillow, it's better a wall hanging thingy. I will show that to you when it's done.
Ack! these are Buttermilk Basin patterns by the way.

scrap doll quilt

I've been working on this scrappy doll quilt off and on for a few weeks.
I would just sew the pieces at the beginning and the end of chain sewing other projects. In no time I had 2 strips of 'coins'.  The strips are about 2" X 18".
I wasn't really sure what I was going to do with them.
I am a messy sewer sometimes. While I was moving one pile to another...I layed the strips on a very large stack of 'to be folded' fabric.  A few days later I looked down and realized they were laying on a Moda turkey red from Lumiere de Noel fabric line. I decided that was the solution. I cut a few strips and created this little one.
Now to quilt it...hand quilt? with pearl cotton, or machine? not sure yet. I'll let you know soon as I decide.

It's Home.

Hello Yellow is finally home.
While I was sewing this quilt for Quilts n More..
I wasn't feelin' it too much.
I had originally designed it with a more subtle group of fabrics.
Once I completed the top and machine washed it...
I fell in love.
I didn't want to send it to Iowa.
I am serious, I liked it that much!
It would have been selfish to keep this one all to myself :)
There are still a few kits left at Fat Quarter Shop.
I'll be honest, I have been secretly checking the stock there...
turns out as of this moment there are only 14 kits left..

Simple Pleasures block 7

I have been stitching here and there on Simple Pleasures. I just keep getting sidetracked with other projects, applecores, tisket baskets, little boos, fallish fabrics, fallish stitcheries and on and on.
I have decided that I am not going to this fall quilt market. It was a REALLY tough choice. Instead my parents are visiting from Iowa. It'll be my birthday weekend, Halloween and trick or treat with my kids. I think overall it was the best decision. But let me emphasize the REALLY HARD part. That's where all the new fabrics are released...and new books. Drat.
Anyhow, in the mean time I am hoping to show you what lil projects I have been whipping up to beef up my fallish decor.  Perhaps inspire you to create something for the season too.
Have a Happy Tuesday!
