Vacation sort of

Here's the super awesome prize I won from Calamity Jane's Cottage! I have been going to post this for almost a week. I can't be held responsible for my actions....I'm telling you it's Ranger and Joe Morelli (S. Plum series). Ok back to the prize...she sent me a very cool purse, fabric and a load of Romantic Homes Magazines. I LOVE the magazines, full of ideas about decor and color. I am savoring them.
At this point we are in South Carolina. I tried to email my friend to let her know (she lives here) anyhow, I don't know if she got the message or I typed the wrong address. I have to call her. Here's the problem, I'm lazy...yep it's true. It's 92 degrees here...humidity horrible...and I just don't want to leave the house...and the bed and couch are soooo comfortable here. Truthfully it's so hot (for us) that both my girls stayed outside with bubbles for 5 minutes and retreated back in due to the heat. I had a mind to do some sewing..and got lazy again. So I am trying to slap some sense into myself and get stitching...when I do, you'll be the first to know.

One for the Money....

I was given a Kindle for Mother's Day....I LOVE it...it is just the coolest thing to download a book in less than 30 seconds. I am hooked.... I thought I would read one or 3 of Janet Evanovich's books. I had not read the Stephanie Plum series....so on Kindle I was able to get the first 3 together for a reduced rate. That was May 28th. Today is June 11...I'm on #11.....
So IF you are wondering where I've been...well my nose is in my Kindle..reading ALL about that Ranger hottie and Joe Morelli....whom we all secretly wish really exist. Oh and we are on a short vacation this weekend too. Yippee..and I did bring sewing...mostly hand sewing. I have several items I am working on slowly....tutes soon...I hope..if I can stop reading long enough to take the pictures.

A wonderful weekend....

That's what we've had. It's short and sweet. The weather in Iowa is nothing short of perfect. Here are my 2 girls and my niece playing at Flora Park in Dubuque. After they played and played for literally hours they came home and rested and I was able to do a little shopping. I found the new McCall's Quilting magazine and love it...it has the new Modabakeshop ad! :) I was also tempted to visit the local quilt shop where I was lucky enough to score some new Moda. I about fell on the floor when I realized they had one of each of these available. Mill House Inn?? Woohoo....I feel like I won the lottery. Plus the newest the Collection for a Cause - Alliance. I'm in fabric heaven.

It is taking ALL of my will power to not rip them open...but I am not home with all my quilting supplies...I still don't have a clear plan of what they will become...a new Moda Bake Shop project?? maybe...
I ♥ Moda
gosh I have been smiling so much my face hurts.
I also picked up Double Takes 3 which I have been eyeing for awhile. Plus a new Bareroots Halloween stitchery. Halloween is my favorite holiday.

All in all it was an awesome weekend. We're heading home.
