Best laid plans...

At work yesterday the staff were talking about making ice cream in 5 minutes. Frozen berries and some heavy cream and a blender. Well I thought "that would be a great quick recipe for me to make with Grace". So I stopped at the grocery on the way home and got a few things. When I got home I realized that I had heavy cream but forgot the frozen berries! I was bummed and decided to make cupcakes instead. Oh and cookies!...and G was happy. Now right before we were about to start mixing ingredients Grace picked up this quilt. I made it before she was born. And I had taken it to work to show the gals. I thought I'd lost it or given it away and while cleaning up my sewing area and scraps, I found it on the bottom of a stack. I used foundation paper piecing and believe it or not...most of the colors came from one fabric! I fussy cut it to get the gradations. Enjoy!

Webkinz handmade clothes help

Right off I'll tell you, this post is about Webkinz. Could you tell by the title? They invaded our lives in February around my DD1's 7th birthday. It's almost an addiction for her or a competition. "I have to have more webkinz than so and so.....". She has to do chores around the house to earn money to buy them. She has 19 now! and she plays everyday online feeding them etc. Now the big thing is that she keeps asking ME to "quilt" them clothes...socks etc. I know one can buy them clothes but she wants me to make them, bless her heart. Anyone out there in blog land have pattern(s) that would fit webkinz? I have searched and only found a few knitted patterns and I was hoping to use up some cotton scraps instead of knitting. I would appreciate any help with this.

Memorial Weekend

Wow I am late posting....
Well my in-laws are gone now and it's back to the more normal life...ah that means without help :(

My mother in-law is so helpful with my girls...well my father in-law too...but he gets bored easily LOL. My MIL is a quilter too. I have showed some of her quilts on my blog. This trip she and I started some wallhangings...identical nearly. I cut all the fabric and traced the applique shapes and cut them out for us. Just so she could sit and piece while DD2 slept. She assembled most of it over the weekend! She also started 2 more projects with one of my jelly rolls and some other scraps. I didn't add much to my stash over the Vegas trip and I busted about a yard this weekend...now don't get me wrong I am FAR from a stash buster....but I am keeping track of what I added vs. used. I am WAY in the hole of buying. I hope to have some pics of what I've been working on coming this weekend. I bought a pattern for crocheting on the edge of blankets. It explains briefly that you should have the edges Hem Stitched. I have researched this and I am hoping some of you can help me find a place to get this done OR let me know IF your janome or Viking can do this type of stitch, I'd trully appreciate it.
So it's 9:30 and IF I want ANY pictures to post here..I need to get back to my projects.

We're here....and having fun!

It's friday and we're in Vegas having fun! The time zone thing really messes me up...therefore I am up. I'm ready for some serious Vegas breakfast. We're staying at NY NY and love this hotel. Here's the view from my rental car......ah rain??? in Las Vegas? I thought we were in the desert!

After a little breakfast I headed to the quilt shops. I had a course mapped out to get to today...and joann's and the mall in Henderson. I also had a big list of items I am looking for......mostly what I've seen on the fat quarter shop in the last 2 days!
I found a super cute baby quilt idea using pre-quilted fabrics and some crochet thread. I hope to get this made up for DD2
I also found these cute cupcake fabrics and M.E. charm pack to use for my Chubby Chicks pattern. So the Christmas Goose was the best of the 3 shops. I found nothing at the Fabric Boutique :( and Quiltique I found some Shiki fabric by Kumiko Sudo....but I don't have a picture. We are heading home sunday...and to be honest I can't wait to get home and see my girls.
