Our weather outside is frightful....

So this is #18....A cutesy snowman...another Minnesota made quilt. I really love this quilt...you can't see it well in the pic but he has swirly quilting on his 'belly' and it looks like snow. I did have this done by a professional machine quilter. I don't know if she quilts anymore. She went by the 'Northwoods Quilter'. It's been 6 years since I've spoken to her darn it. Also for the life of me, I can't find my pattern for this any where. The designer is on the tip of my tongue. This is what I didn't get finished this weekend:(

And a teapot pincushion. I am a 'cushion collector as you may know so I couldn't pass this one up. I hope to post more tomorrow...I have lots of cool stuff to share pics of.

3-D Flower Pincushion....

Ah will I ever have time to make this??? I hope so... I have made loads of pictures and need to make even more. I have lots to blog about today and tomorrow.....

A quilt I really love....

My very first trip to visit my friends Marilyn and Karen in SC in I think 2004, we went to the LQS "Island Threads". This Pat Sloan fabric collection Old Blooms just jumped at me. I just knew I wanted to make this quilt with Pat's fabric. The pattern is in the book "Quilting with my Sister". I started cutting it while I was there and piecing...I don't have it quilted yet but I wanted to post the top because it's a favorite of mine and I needed a little inspiration in my posts. Inspiration for myself. I want to quilt it but I am not sure how I am going to do it...have any suggestions?? Since my first trip to Pawleys Island I have been back multiple times and have even purchased a vacation home there. They made a BIG impression on me LOL.

Ah Friday

I'll be honest, I don't feel like posting. I was on a 'hot' streak for days but for some reason today I have little inspiration to post. I did find one very lovely project tutorial I'd like to try by the small object . She gave me permission to post her project. Isn't it adorable?
And I have been holding on posting my Baby Nines quilt, but here it is. I saw this on the cover of McCalls Quilting. I actually entered it in a quilt show in Iowa where I grew up. I received honorable mention. I entered another quilt as well in that show....and it ended up in the local paper. I clipped that article and hope to scan it in and post here for my quilt a day journal.

Q.A.D. #15 Dolly Hearts

Here's a very simple doll quilt. My daughter decided the placement of the hearts. She wanted the purple heart on the bottom right to be flipped. So that is what I made. It's one of her little doll quilts so I wanted it pleasing to her.
