I got a little side tracked on the jelly roll race quilts.
I have been working like crazy.
My hubby went out of town and
I get the pleasure of running the household for a week alone.
not fun.
But then we went to Florida and met up with him
and visited his parents.
It was a good trip but I didn't sew a stitch.
Today I finished my 5th jelly roll race quilt top.
I just went with the straight version
using Nature's Chorus by April Cornell for Moda.
I am running out of time on these, wouldn't you know?
I was going to make 6 total jelly roll race quilts....
but
then I hired another staff member last week.
So there are now 7.
I realize she is new to my team but I just don't feel right about
not making her a quilt as well.
So now I have 2 more quilt tops to make,
and 7 quilts to bind....
and I have 32 days to do it.
whew.
{insert freak out}.
My inner sewing goddess has to have a talk with me...
I CAN do this.
I CAN do this.
I hope I can do this.
3 quilts are in fact back from my local quilter.
I will bind them soon-ish.
Maybe over this coming Thanksgiving holiday :)
I plan on posting them as I finish.
It's fun to record the 'finishes'.

You really have set yourself a task.
Machine binding?? Maybe the new team member can get a table runner this time & a quilt next time??
Good luck with the schedule!

I know what you mean. I'm not making quilts for gifts but pillows for the little girls in the family. I was going to make only one (for my goddaughter) but didn't feel right excluding my own daughter. So then it was 2. Then my cousin asked me to make for her goddaughter - 3. then I added 2 more for a couple others and last night I added 1 more for a grand total of 6. Thankfully I only have 2 more to finish!
You can do it!!! #5 looks wonderful.
Your employees are very lucky gals! I do like the straight line version...need to try that one.
