VOILE

Recently I found some of Anna Maria Horner's Voile at a local quilt shop. I decided to purchase a bit more online. I found the Fabricworm on etsy had the best selection.
I purchased these to make Christmas gift(s).
I am going to wait to show what I made. The recipients may or may not be blog followers.
In the mean time, I have all these 5" scrap strips. What would you do with them?

  1. You could make a Coin Quilt, use them in a Strip Quilt, make Pin wheel blocks, any of the Gwen Marston/Freddy Moran blocks for a Liberated Quilt. Have fun!

  4. Another couple of ideas. Look at Rita's blog at Red Pepper Quilts and be inspired by her Hour glass quilt and her use of Half Square Triangles in other quilts she's made.

  6. Hey Vickie!

I have heard so much about the fabric. Everyone talks about how soft the voile feels to the touch.

So I am curious to see what you will make out of them. I think that I would make a nice quilt to use in the summer.

  7. I would cut them into small rectangles and mix with solid kona for a tote bag, and just use solid scrap strips for a matching wallet.

  10. Gorgeous colors....I have not sewn with voile before...is it a thinner fabric?

  11. Cut them into 2 1/2" strips, sew the strips together on the long sides, coin style, in two equal batches. Then I would make a two sided lightweight scarf by sewing them right sides together and turning! I love scarves.

  12. I think I'd make a summer scarf. Something light with little crocheted scallops at each end. Such pretty fabric. Looking forward to seeing what you've make from them.

I wrote that before I read the other comments and see two other wise people suggested a scarf also.

  14. A scarf seems like the perfect thing, but a coin quilt is my favorite kind of quilt pattern. So hard to decide.
