Makin' plans

Makin' plans for some serious quilts.
okay not really serious.

I am embarking on making some jelly roll race quilts
or rather my version
of the jelly roll quilts.
I have several jelly rolls and definitely plan on buying more....
but I feel good about using my stash for these quilts.

I think I am going to mix it up with squares, rectangles and angle piecing.
We'll see how it goes.
I have already started a 'basic' jelly roll quilt with some old fig tree fabric.
I am going to try make pictures as I go to post.
Have you made a jelly roll race quilt?
How many jelly rolls do you have?
Was it wise to ask how many jelly rolls are in someone's stash?

Hi there. My group at work just did a bunch of JR quilts using up our Ugly stash...and some of it was really ugly. They all turned out pretty good. I have seen adding the squares between pieces. All are fun... Come see my post on http://kwiltypleasures.blogspot.com. Thnx.

No, I have never made a jelly roll quilt of any kind and I have 30 different jelly rolls in my stash. Please share your progress. I would be interested in doing one.

Here's a picture of my JR race quilt made with the Bella solids roll in your first picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47797379@N04/6338310519/in/pool-musiccitymodernquilters I used a Kaffe Fassett print for the diamonds and will probably use some more of the same print for a border when I get around to finishing it one of these days!

I have been wanting to make one of the jelly roll race quilts, but haven't done one yet.

Jelly rolls are my downfall. I have one still in the mailer! I never opened it. It was on sale and I bought it.
