Is it Wednesday?

Is it Wednesday? I mean is that possible? I am at a loss as to where the time has gone. I have been soooo busy.

To start, Wow what an action packed weekend. My friend Carol stayed for a couple of days this weekend. It was sooo awesome to see her and spending some quality shopping/quilting/chatting time. I miss our many days together before she moved. Anyhow, on Sunday, 2 other quilting buds drove up to visit with us. THAT was fabulous. We shared lunch which I made...um can you hardly believe it? me either. We also split 50 -1 yard pieces of Kaffe fabrics that Carol and I picked at the local quilt shop (the 50%off sale) . 2 of us each get a fat quarter..and Marilyn got 1/2 yard pieces. and we ooohed and aahhhed over them and what we'll do with them. It was fun...I was soo tired and darn I really didn't want Carol to leave or to go back to work on Monday.

Bursting Mail Box........

Yes, it was just bursting with fun, exciting surprises....Like this Random Act of Moda by Lissa.... An owl just for me. how adorable!!!

My friend is here for a day or 2 from Tennessee. She is always coming up with something. She crafted me a SUPER DUPER cute cupcake pincushion. She also made me the oreo cookie pincushions I blogged here. THEY are trully the type of deserts I NEED to keep around instead of the real stuff.

AND on top of that I received my "Wishing it was Spring" swap!

Two amazing spring-y fat qaurters from Sarah. If you notice in the above pic there is a gorgeous yellow Kaffe....wellllllll ....my friend and I went back to the 50% off sale yesterday. So now I have my spring swap fabrics to send....but not that print...it HAS to be a surprise.

So it is like 3am here and I should be sleeping. The thing is is that my DH (who is the best) is snoring...should I say that here? well I went to bed early...and slept 5 hours (that's almost a full night) and then it kinda started....the snoring. I figured..I'm up, let's blog all I have been wanting to for like 3 days. Now ...I need to get sewing.....maybe I better not do that at 3am....

More mail goodies...

Here are 2 more quilts I sent Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works. I pieced and appliqued this quilt about 7 years ago. "French Rose" was a kit at the Glass Thimble in Columbus, Ohio. It can be found in the book by Cabbage Rose called "Threads of Time". My MIL made one as well and wanted to quilt it but didn't know how. I volunteered to teach her...thus I quilted her whole quilt...so mine lay unquilted for years...until now..... Here's a close up of the flowers...

And the border....which will I think end up scalloped. This pattern

And here's one of the Baby Fats quilts...simple and starry... I am just happy that I will have a few baby quilts on hand for future mommies...

Now I have to get started on the bindings!

Fabric buying spree....

Here's my awesome fabric buys last weekend...all 50% off...and I am serious....Kaffe Fassett, Heather Bailey, Lila Tueller, and Amy Butler...I bought quilt backs and borders to go along with some yardage I had left from another quilt. The rest is to add to my inspiration pile... I saved my husband soooo much $$$$ LOL.

I am headed back tomorrow to pick up a few more prints...not as much as the first visit though.

A fine day...

I received 2 of my 4 quilts from Jackie today....They are AWESOME. I think I posted these back in January..before I sent them to her. She did a very quick turn around.
A close up of the quilting...they are busy fabrics so it was difficult to get a great picture.
This is so pretty..now I wish I'd made it queen size~ and the batting is silky soft....but I can't remember what I sent Doh! I think it was bamboo batting...Hey maybe Jackie can remember??

Here's the up close......
So I decided to get the bindings out for them tonight...only to realize that I didn't make the bindings yet...I have literally 20 bindings done...not a one for these 2 quilts....I'm not sure how I managed that.

Just in the nick of time...

I was fortunate enough to finish 2 more projects for the challenge in January. I finally sewed all the binding for my Smores quilt. I am glad I finished it before the snow melted! My daughters love it.I have also been working on a few tutorials for Moda's new blog Moda Bakeshop. My Lil Zipper Bag (as named by my daughter) was my first tutorial. So yeah, I get to post it as a finish for January!! I have a whole lot going on, including a few quilts coming from my cool quilter, more tutorials, my super awesome fabric buying spree this week....yeah lots to blog about....
In celebration of my 4 January finishes...I am going to have a giveaway....so comment on this post and make sure that you send me your email so that I have a way to contact you. Post about my giveaway on your blog for an extra entry! Let me know that you posted on your blog so that I may check it out! I will draw on February 8th.....for this...Chez Moi charm pack and a heart hand knit dishcloth....Good Luck!
